Detailed description of Newark Country Club
Newark Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Newark, Delaware.
Newark Golf Course first opened for play in 1921. This par 71 layout was designed by Wilfrid Reid.
The course was built on rolling terrain. he greens are very small. Numerous trees come into play on the back nine. One hole has a ditch and a tree in the middle of its fairway. Water hazards (five ponds) come into play on five holes.
The signature hole is #12, a 383-yard, par 4, requiring a shot over water.
The course plays to 6,396 yards from the Blue tees. The course rating is 70.5 and the slope rating is 122. The White tees play to 6,018 yards and the Gold tees are set at 5,398 yards.

Actually played twice in a month for free on a gift certificate. Would enjoy being a member if I could justify the cost per year. Course although not long is challenging and in superb condition. Staff was very accomodating despite my not being a member.
